FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

Our program teaches the youth the skills of hockey, but keeping in mind that family comes first. Birthday parties and family get togethers are more important than playing hockey. Yes we want the kids to be commited to their team and show up for practices and games but we also want them to enjoy being a kid. How many birthday parties do you actually get to attend of your child as he or she grows up if you are lucky...10 maybe 12 . We want the kids to strive to win but winning isn't everything, learning to play as a team, building new friendships ( parents also do this as you never have the same team the next year.   

 If you are new to hockey the youth need all equipment to play, safety is very important to us. We have 4 age groups 4-7 yrs, 8-10 yrs, 11-14 and 15 -18 yrs.  These age groups are guidelines only. We have moved players up or down depending on ability and family travel issues.

We have 1 practice per week and 1 home game per month usually. 

We do book pictures and have a fellow that comes to do them usually before Christmas

We normally have 2 tournaments the first is for the 8-10 yr olds and it will be November 9th and 10th, then we usually have another tournament in January for the next group but we are unsure if we will have ice for it this year due to the curling bonspiel. All parents need to help with the tournament of their players so it runs smoothly. 

We will be trying to book extra ice for a ref clinic asap for any of the kids 8yrs old and older

Any volunteers and coaches must get me a criminal record check ASAP so I can forward to FunTeam I can provide you with a letter for the RCMP so you don't have to pay for it.

Prices are $250 for the 4-7yrs olds and $275 for all the other age groups. Fees can be etransfered to rimbeyfalcons@gmail.com

Roy and I started this program 13 yrs ago after our son had quit minor hockey at 9yrs old and played 2 years with the Winfield FunTeam group. We realized there was more to hockey than being in an arena every weekend from Sept till the end of March missing birthday parties, family Christmas dinners and other special occasions do to running with hockey. We strive to find coaches that fit with the Fun Team ideas so kids benefit in our program.
