FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!
FunTeam Alberta – Join the Fun!
FunTeam Alberta is all about making hockey enjoyable, inclusive, and accessible. We focus on family-friendly, affordable, and less competitive programming that welcomes participants of all skill levels. Our goal is to create a positive experience not just for the kids, but also for parents, coaches, volunteers, and the wider community.
Teams are formed by age once we have a clear idea of registration numbers. All registration will take place online. While your registration covers the season, optional tournaments may be available for your child’s age group and are an additional cost. To celebrate the season, we’ll be hosting a fun year-end party for all participants (usually a fun game vs family)!
Games will be arranged with other towns in advance. Once teams are finalized, each group will decide together which scheduled games to keep based on what works best for your team—especially when it comes to travel.
Our program depends on community support. Volunteers are essential to keep things running smoothly, and we are currently looking for coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, jersey coordinators, referees, and more. If you’re able to help, we’d love to have you involved!
Ice times are typically held on Saturdays, starting with the youngest groups and moving up by age. Closer to the season start, you’ll receive an email confirming your child’s group, time slot, and teammates. Please note that registration does not guarantee placement, as final numbers will determine team formations.
Registration closes October 4th, 2025, with confirmation emails going out by October 10th, 2025. Be sure to follow our Facebook page for updates and announcements.
Open to kids aged 5 to 15.

What to Bring
Standard Hockey equipment required for all players is as follows:
- Hockey Stick
- Padded hockey gloves
- Hockey helmet with cage
- Neck guard
- Shoulder pads
- Elbow pads
- Athletic Jock (boys) or Jill (girls)
- Hockey pants
- Shin guards
- Hockey socks
- Practice Jersey of your own OR you can purchase a FunTeam jersey from us for $15. Please email us at bowdenfunteamhockey@outlook.com for questions.
- Game Jerseys are provided and will be handed out by team manager at each game.
- Hockey Skates
*If you require assistance for equipment fit or have questions please email us.
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.
Fees will be $315. ($305 for registration and $10 for insurance)
