FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

We are Olds Rec hockey but we play out of the Bowden Igloo Arena. We have home ice on Saturdays and play away games on the weekends. Our maximum travel distance would be 2 hours and that rarely happens. Please register and we will divide the kids up based on ages - usually around the end of September/early October. You will receive an email with the information on what time your child will play in that email along with the name of kids in the group.

What to Bring
Standard hockey equipment required for all players as follows:
- hockey stick
- hockey gloves
- helmet with cage
- neck guard
- shoulder pads
- elbow pads
- jock/jill
- hockey pants
- shin guards
- hockey socks
- skates
- jersey
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.
$280 mandatory yearly fee
Optional- $15 fee for a FunTeam Alberta practice jersey

Volunteering
FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.
We will need coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, referees, jersey holders, and time keepers. Without volunteers we would not be able to make FunTeam work!
Here is a quick overview of what each volunteer position will entail-
Coach- You will be the head coach for the team. You will need to be at most ice times and if you cannot be, you must make arrangements with your assistant coaches to be able to cover for you. You will need to ensure each kid feels welcomed and enjoys their time on the ice! We are FUN Team :) Also creating drills and fun ice games for the kids.
Assistant Coach- You will be on the ice to help out the coach and collaborate together. Creating drills and ensure that the kids are all participating.
Team Manager- You will run the teams communications. Either via email or team snap or any other method you choose. This will also include ensuring the coaches and jersey holders will be at each game, taking payment for tournaments, etc.
Referees- Please email us for details on becoming a referee for our league
Jersey Holders- Bringing the jerseys to each game, and if you cannot make a game, ensuring someone else will be able to bring the jerseys.
Time Keepers- Running the time clock at our home ice. There is a manual and we will also show you how to run it.
