Description

FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

Located in Eckville, Alberta in the Eckville Arena.

Level 1: A 30 min non-parented class for children ages 3-5 who have not had any significant time on skates. It is designed to introduce children to the ice and help them become comfortable. This program teaches children the basics of how to get up when they fall down, how to move forward, basic backward movement, and how to stop. Music, toys, and games are used to help children feel ready to take the next step.

Level 2 (stage 1-4): A 1 hour lesson designed for those children ages 6 and up who can work independently within a group lesson. A comprehensive series of balance, control, and agility skills; which lead into developing fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skills, free and artistic skate.

Level 2 (stage 5+): A 1 hour lesson designed for those children ages 6 and up who can work independently within a group lesson and have experience skating/participated in lessons. A comprehensive series of balance, control, and agility skills; which lead into developing and focusing on fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skills, free and artistic skate.

What to Bring

  • Skates (with laces recommended) 
  • CSA approved helmet required for all skaters up to Dance Skate. (No goalie helmets)
  • Snow Pants
  • Winter Jacket/Warm Jacket
  • Waterproof Mittens

Fees

Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

Level 1: Wednesday 3:45-4:15: $10 Fun Team + $100 skating= $110

Level 2 (stage 1-4): Monday AND Wednesday 4:00-5:00: $10 Fun Team + $340 skating= $350

Level 2 (stage 1-4): Monday OR Wednesday 4:00-5:00: $10 Fun Team + $170 skating= $180

Level 2 (stage 5+): Monday AND Wednesday 4:45-5:45: $10 Fun Team + $340 skating= $350

FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.

$400 Eckville Arena Concession Bond Cheque: All skaters must provide a post dated cheque to be used if they do not work or pay someone to work their hours in the arena concession. 

Fundraising opportunties may arise this year to help with some costs. We do have a tentative bottle drive in October.
