FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

Welcome to the 2023 Soccer Season with RQB Soccer Association.

We are excited to see all the kids back on the fields when the snow melts in April. Please note we have added a U11 category this year, so we no have: U4, U5, U7, U9 and U11. In order for this season to be successful please be aware that we are always in need of more volunteer coaches, if we don't have enough coaches, we cannot run soccer. 

We focus on bringing all the fun while also giving kids an insight to soccer skills, teamwork and lifelong love of sport. 

***Teams are made based upon coaching availability and no player pairing requests are guaranteed*** 

ALL U4 children will be given an x-small jersey despite the sizing selection on the registration form

What to Bring

Kids need to show up with a water bottle and be in comfortable clothes. Shin pads are suggested at all levels but are required at U9 and U11. Soccer balls, nets and other required equipment will be provided at the fields by the coaching staff. 

Fees

Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

Fees to play soccer are $55 per athlete. 

Of that $45 goes towards jerseys, equipment, year and gifts and supplies.

$10 goes to Funteam Alberta as their fee to cover insurance and registration with their association.

Volunteering

FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.

We are an organization that is powered by volunteers in every aspect. Our board, our coaches, everything. In order to create a fun experience for all this season we encourage you to volunteer. 

Please consider signing up as a volunteer to coach one of our teams this year. It is fun, simple and no prior experience is needed.

This is a new age group for RQB soccer. We look forward to continuing the development of soccer specific skills with all the children in a fun and mildly competitive atmosphere. The focus will also be on fitness, and teamwork.

U4
In U4 children begin to learn the basics of soccer such as kicking, passing and dribbling the ball. They also begin to develop an understanding of the role a coach plays on a team. They develop a sense of teamwork while creating new peer connections. This age group is all about the FUN! Parents at this age are expected to be an active participant on the field, supporting the coach in helping their child follow directions and engage in activities.
Children in this age group need to under under 4 and older then 2.5 as of May 1st 2023

In U5 children continue to learn the basics with a more independence. They no longer require a parent on the field at all times as they are now more able to follow directions and engage in the activities. They may begin to play some simple games among their peers.

U7
U7 is where the competition really begins. At this age they continue to develop their skills but now have understanding enough to play some simple, just for fun games, against other peers. They take turns playing goalie and begin to understand what it truly means to be a part of a team.
Children in this age group are 5 and under 7 years of age as of May 1st 2023

U9
This is our oldest age group. It is where we learn the most about rules of the sport, as well as further develop skills. Children here play on a full size field and further develop their understanding of team work. They learn to support their peers, as well as working on sportsmanship - understanding winning and losing with grace.
Children in this age group need to be under 9 and 7 years old by May 1st 2023
