FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!
Welcome to Didsbury FunTeam Basketball. We are a community group for children currently in Grades 2-7. We started in 2016 to enable the younger children to learn the game of basketball while they waited to be in the grade that school basketball traditionally starts. We are a low cost, less competitive group aimed at all skill levels. We do not travel. We only play games/scrimmage within our sessions against each other. We hope your child will grow in their knowledge of the sport, make new friends, grow in confidence and build on their current basketball skills.
Our registration will open mid February, 2023. Please look at our Facebook group/page for information or updates.
This year we will be running two sessions on a SATURDAY morning.
9am - 10am Grades 2-4
10:15am - 11:30am Grades 5-7
March 18,25
April 1,15,22,29 (Not 8th as that's Easter weekend)
May 6,13,20,27
We ask that you do not drop off your children too early for their session and that you pick up promptly please. Our coaches really appreciate their 15 min break in between the age groups! You are welcome to stay and watch the sessions, but as part of our rental agreement we have to ask that any other children with you stay with you in the bleachers area. Thank you in advance.
What to Bring
Indoor shoes, water bottle, gym strip (shorts and t-shirt).....and of course a great attitude ready to learn and have fun!
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.
Our fees remain the same as the last few seasons. $25 per player plus $10 FunTeam Alberta membership (unless you have already paid through Didsbury FunTeam Hockey this 2022/23 season)
Once registration opens you should now be able to pay the fees online.....hooray!

Volunteering
FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.
We are usually very fortunate to have many returning adult and young adult volunteer coaches. That said please contact Zoe Holdstock or Allan Whitehead if you would like more information as to the role of volunteer coach. All volunteers require a current criminal record check prior to the season start date.
