Welcome to The Rich Valley Vikings Hockey Club! RVHC is affiliated with FunTeam Alberta, who promote family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourages any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community! Everyone plays and the amazing coaches will be working with all participants to improve their confidence and skill, and strive for everyone to learn how to work as a team player and build their love of the game.
Teams will receive 1 practice weekly, with games starting around the first week of November with other Fun Team groups in the surrounding areas. The ice scheduler will do their best to schedule 1 home game/1 away game per month, usually no more than 45 minutes from home ice at Rich Valley Arena. The teams are grouped by age. The age ranges listed below are an approximation that depends on the number of participants in certain age groups.
Intro To Hockey Program- 3/4
Little Vikings - Ages 5–7
Middle JR Vikings - Ages 8-11
Middle SR Vikings - Ages 12-14
Big Vikings - Ages 15+
Ice Times will be Sun Wed Thurs or Fridays
2-3 games per month on Saturdays (except the intro to hockey)
This will be determined by the number of registered players.
Registration Closes Sept 22nd - after this date it will be based on spots available
Mandatory Parent Meeting/AGM - Fri Oct 13th 6pm - Ice open for kids to go skating
Team Photos - Oct 28th 12pm to 3pm - your team will be given a time slot
What to Bring
The following is required for all players:
Practice jersey (available in red or white for $15 each )
Helmet with full cage
Hockey tape (for socks)
Hockey tape (for stick)
Practice Jerseys are available in Red or White and are $15 each. This is not included in your registration fee.
All coaches are required to wear a helmet and skates.
$10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.
Registration Fees $275 / child
They are working on credit card payment directly from this site but there will be a fee to pay by credit card. Alternatively you can Etransfer your fees to firstname.lastname@example.org ( BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER IN THE MEMO)

Please note that the Registration fees must be paid in full prior to your Childs first practice, the volunteer commitments must be paid to the arena by Nov 15th.

The volunteer commitment comes in 2 parts this year-
Part 1- Raffle Tickets - Sell 2 booklets per child, return your ticket stubs to drop box or concession at the arena and earn your fee back. Deposit on raffle ticket required
Part 2 - Tournament Assistance - Work 1 tournament shift per family.
All of the volunteer commitments will be discussed at the 1 Mandatory Parent Meeting om Oct 13th @6pm.
Each team will have a head coach, with, ideally, two assistant coaches.
All coaches and parents volunteers that are on ice and / or dressing rooms are required to provide a vulnerable sector check to the registrar.
Description of Volunteer Positions
Referee Coordinators: responsible to book referees for games played by our Middle and Big teams. Our Little team will have their games refereed by volunteer parents or kids for the older teams.
Team Managers: responsible to ensure the team is able to attend, confirm which players will attend, which jerseys are required, and provide the game location for their team. They are responsible to reschedule or cancel any games based on weather conditions and/or illnesses.
Jersey Managers: ensure that game jerseys are distributed to each player for games and collected at the end of each game. They will wash them according to the instructions given and return ALL jerseys to RVHC at the end of the season.
The year end party coordinators:( 1 per team) will be responsible to assist in the year end party
Tournament Assistance: Each family will be responsible to cover one 4hr shift at one of the tournaments that we host. Donations from families and local business are welcomed for our tournaments to help cover the costs.
This organization cannot exist without volunteers. Please consider how you can assist to make this a successful season for our children. We require these below - if we can not fill these positions the season can not run. Please note your volunteer and tournament commitment fee will be waived if you choose a position with an asterisk
