FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!
Welcome to R.Q.B. Fun Hockey! Our association is affiliated with FunTeam Alberta, who promote family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourages any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers, and the rest of the community! Everyone plays and the amazing coaches will be working with all participants to improve their confidence and skill, and strive for everyone to learn how to work as a team player and build their love of the game.
Each team will have one session every Monday, commencing on October 16th. The last session will be March 18th. Please note that there will be NO Fun Hockey on November 6th, December 25th, and January 1st. On Monday, February 19th, this will be a “Parent versus Players” Game to celebrate Family Day. Last year, older teams played a few local games and participated in a local tournament. This will be determined as the season unfolds and communicated directly to parents.
The teams are grouped by age. The age ranges listed below are an approximation that depends on the number of participants in certain age groups.

What to Bring
Standard Hockey equipment required for all players is as follows:

Hockey Stick

Padded hockey gloves

helmet with cage (HECC certified and not expired)

shoulder and chest pads

Elbow pads

Athletic Jock (boys) or Jill (girls)

Shin guards

Jerseys will be provided once payment has been received and at the first Monday session.
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

Before September 30th, 2022: $290/player (Cubs, Bobcats, Cougars, Rootbeers)
October 1, 2022 onwards: $300/player (Cubs, Bobcats, Cougars, Rootbeers)
Fees are paid online when completing registration.

**Call out for volunteers to make Fun Hockey a success:

We need coaches!!! We need 3-4 for coaches per team in case someone is sick!

Team Managers. (Responsibilities : Find coaches for your team and make sure there is a coach there every Monday night. Collect and hand in the required Criminal Record Checks of each coach)

Organize Picture Night (Book evening, make a schedule, and distribute pictures)

Buy and hand out end of the year gifts.
