FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

Welcome to the 2024 Soccer Season with RQB Fun Team Soccer.

We are excited to see all the kids back on the fields when the snow melts in April. In order for this season to be successful please be aware that we are always in need of more volunteer coaches, if we don't have enough coaches, we cannot run soccer. 

We focus on bringing all the fun while also giving kids an insight to soccer skills, teamwork and lifelong love of sport. The season starts on April 22nd at 6:30PM in the Villeneuve park behind the church and practice runs for 1hr.  The season will end on June 17th. Please note any cancellations due to weather/smoke index will be posted on our FB page:

***Teams are made based upon coaching availability and no player pairing requests are guaranteed*** 

ALL U4 children will be given an x-small jersey despite the sizing selection on the registration form.

If you are new to Fun Team, please create a profile for each kid that will be participating in our 2024 soccer season. If you already have your child(s) account created, please update your child's jersey size if they have grown up a size.  

What to Bring

Soccer shoes or runners

Shin guards

Soccer socks

Water bottle

Soccer balls, nets and other required equipment will be provided by the coaching staff.  

 

 

Fees

Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

Fees to play soccer are $55 per athlete. 

Of that $45 goes towards jerseys, equipment, year end gifts and supplies.

$10 goes to Funteam Alberta as their fee to cover insurance and registration with their association.

We are an organization that is powered by volunteers in every aspect. Our board, our coaches, everything. In order to create a fun experience for all this season we encourage you to volunteer. 

Please consider signing up as a volunteer to coach one of our teams this year. It is fun, simple and no prior experience is needed.

In U4 children begin to learn the basics of soccer such as kicking, passing and dribbling the ball. They also begin to develop an understanding of the role a coach plays on a team. They develop a sense of teamwork while creating new peer connections. This age group is all about the FUN! Parents at this age are expected to be an active participant on the field, supporting the coach in helping their child follow directions and engage in activities. Children in this age group need to under 4 and older then 2

In U5, children continue to learn the basics with more independence. Parents are expected to stay close by but are not required on the field as their child(ren) learns independence by following directions and engaging in the activities. They may begin to play some simple games among their peers. Children in this age group are age 4 and under 5 as of January 1st 2024

U7 is where the competition really begins. At this age they continue to develop their skills but now have understanding enough to play some simple, just for fun games, against other peers. They take turns playing goalie and begin to understand what it truly means to be a part of a team. Children in this age group are 5 and under 7 years of age as of January 1st 2024

U9 is where we learn the most about rules of the sport, as well as further develop skills. Children here play on a full size field and further develop their understanding of team work.
