FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!
Welcome to Didsbury FunTeam Basketball. We are a community group for children currently in Grades 2-7. We started the group in 2016 to enable younger children to learn the game of basketball while they waited to be old enough to play on a school basketball team. We are a low cost, less competitive group aimed at all skill levels. We do not travel. We only play games/scrimmage within our sessions. We hope your child will grow in their knowledge of the sport, make new friends, grow in confidence and build on any current basketball skills they have.
Our registration will open at the end of February, 2024. Please watch our Facebook group/page for more information and updates.
We will run two sessions on a Saturday morning.
9am - 10am Grades 2-4
10:15am - 11:30am Grades 5-7
April 6, 13, 20, 27
May 4, 11, 18, 25
June 1 & 8
We ask that you do not drop off your children too early for their session and that you please pick up promptly. Our volunteer coaches really appreciate their little break in-between the two sessions. You are more than welcome to stay and watch the sessions, but as part of our rental agreement we have to ask that you, and any other adults/children stay with you in the bleachers area. Thank you in advance.
What to Bring
Please bring along indoor shoes/runners, a water bottle, gym strip (shorts/leggings and t-shirt)......and of course bring along a great attitude, ready to learn and have fun!
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.
The group fee is $30 plus an additional $10 to cover your child's FunTeam membership fee which is required to join any FunTeam group. Please pay the fees online at the time of registration.

Volunteering
FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.
We are always very fortunate to have many returning adult and young adult volunteer coaches. That said please contact Zoe Holdstock or Allan Whitehead if you would like more information as to the role of volunteer coach. All volunteers require a current criminal record check prior to the season start date.
