Description

FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

Welcome to R.Q.B. Fun Hockey! Each team will have one practice session of an hour every Monday, commencing on October 7th. The last session will be March 17th. As well, throughout the season there will be the opportunity (optional) to play games at home on Saturdays and away games (no farther than 60 minutes radius) against other Fun Hockey Teams on weekends. Please note that there will not be games every Saturday for each team. These games will be spread out over the season, averaging out at about a game every 2-3 weeks. Last year, each team participated in a one day local tournament. A game schedule will be emailed to parents once the season is fully underway, as well as any Monday night practices that will be canceled (ex : Christmas Break).

What to Bring

Standard Hockey equipment required for all players is as follows:

  • Hockey Stick

  • Padded hockey gloves

  • helmet with cage (HECC certified and not expired)

  • neck guard

  • shoulder and chest pads

  • Elbow pads

  • Athletic Jock (boys) or Jill (girls)

  • Hockey pants

  • Shin guards

  • hockey socks

  • skates

***A  black Fun Hockey Practice Jersey will be provided at the first Monday session.

Fees

Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

The total cost of fees for the season is $325 per child. This fee includes all the expenses for the entire season : ice rental, practice jersey, games, tournaments, etc. As well as the $10 fee for a Fun Team membership is required. Please note that all fees must be paid online in order to complete your child’s registration.

For all children interested in playing hockey! They do not need to have any experience, nor do they need to know how to skate. However, for children that do not know how to skate, a parent will be required to accompany them on the ice until they can skate independently. Practices are every Monday night from 5:30-6:20pm.
5-7 year olds
