Volunteering

FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.

RVHC Volunteer Commitments for the 2024/25 Season:

Raffle Tickets -  Fee $200 per child 

Your ticket booklets are purchased up front, and you earn your fee back as you sell your ticket booklets. These booklets will be available for pick up at the Mandatory Parent’s meeting on October 2nd. Sold booklet stubs are to be returned to the mail dropbox just inside the arena or at the concession. These booklets are tracked to ensure that they are all returned. Tickets can be paid for by cash or e-transfer to rvasfees@hotmail.com ( please put your name and phone number in the memo when sending an e transfer) 

Description of Volunteer Positions 

1. Referee Coordinators: responsible to book referees for games played by our Middle and Big teams. Our Little team will have their games refereed by volunteer parents or kids for the older teams. 
2. Team Managers:  responsible to ensure the team is able to attend, confirm which players will attend, which jerseys are required, and provide the game location for their team. They are responsible to reschedule or cancel any games based on weather conditions and/or illnesses. 
3. Jersey Managers:  ensure that game jerseys are distributed to each player for games and collected at the end of each game. They will wash them according to the instructions given and return ALL  jerseys to RVHC  at the end of the season. 
4. The year end party coordinators:( 1 per team)  Will be responsible for managing year end party activities.
5. Referees: Preferably 2 referees per game.
6. Time/Score Keepers: Run the score clock during each home game.

This organization cannot exist without volunteers. Please consider how you can assist to make this a successful season for our children. All of the above volunteer positions are required to be filled - if not the season cannot run. All of the volunteer commitments will be discussed at the mandatory parent meeting on October 2nd @7pm.

All coaches and parents volunteers that are on the ice and / or in the dressing rooms are required to provide a vulnerable sector check to the registrar. Please ask for a request letter that you then take to your RCMP detachment.
