FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

**If spots open up, You will ONLY be added to a team IF you are Registered On the Wait List.
Please read all the information carefully ~ there are
specific requirements regarding payments & following these requirements
accordingly will help expedite the process and make for smooth registrations.

- Our season runs the 1st week of October - 2nd week of March.
- Prior to the season starting, the board attends a booking meeting where they book the entire season in one evening. The players then receive their schedule in October and know what to expect for the whole season. Sometimes games get cancelled due to bad weather and if that is the case the managers will often try and find a replacement game somewhere in the season.
- All of the teams practice one night a week at the Winfield Arena. They play 2-3 games/month and attend one tournament. The tournament is an extra cost and usually ends up being $20-25/player.
- We do not play Sundays (unless in a tournament) & try to avoid booking early morning games. We also try our best to avoid holidays/long weekends according to the Winfield school calendar.
- There is no fundraising required. We do get sponsorships & grants to help with any extra costs.
- The local teams we play against & travel to are, Rimbey, Bentley, Ponoka, Rocky,
& Blackfalds
Our age groups are
5-7
8*-11
12-14
15-17 (18 if still in high school)
*8 yr olds will be placed up or down depending on their experience, size, family situation & registration numbers.
- Our ice times this season are Tuesdays, Thursdays some
Friday Nights & Saturdays.
As registrations come in, we will place players on teams according to their age and let everyone know which night they will fall on & what time practice is. - Practices are Tuesday/Thursday - Home games are Friday
Nights (older teams) & Saturdays.
What to Bring
Standard Hockey equipment required for all players is as follows:

** Jerseys & Socks will be provided ~ once a deposit is received.
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

- If the registration fees are not doable for your family, please check out Kid Sport Canada online or JumpStart. They are great programs that sponsor a lot of kids to play hockey :)

- There is also a $100 deposit required for Jerseys & Socks. If they are returned in good condition, at the end of the season, your deposit will be returned to you. (You can use cash/cheque at our first practice night or add it to your e transfer*)
- Each player receives one individual & one group picture included in their registration fees.
- Payment can be made via e transfer to winfieldrechockey@gmail.com **PLEASE use
the password gametime for e transfers
IMPORTANT** If you e-transfer and are paying for more than one child at a time, please indicate in the notes their First & Last Names & their Age group. There are so many families with different last names and generic emails which make it nearly impossible to match up. **If you are adding your jersey deposit to your e-transfer, you must indicate that in the notes as well. **Also - please wait to send payment until we announce the go ahead ~ In the next few weeks you will find out which team your child is on and then you can send the funds accordingly.
Paying with cash or cheque can be done on our first practice
night. Please email winfieldrechockey@gmail.com to let us know that is how
you will be paying.

Volunteering
FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.
Volunteering is the heart of our program and we couldn't run without all our fabulous volunteers & every family stepping up to help in small ways.
We have lots of opportunities to give back to the program, like running the score clock at a game, or helping with setup/take down at our year end party.
As our season begins, your team manager will have a list of ways you can sign up to help :) We appreciate you all so much!
