Beaumont Fun Team Shinny Hockey

Description

FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

We play out doors every Saturday weather permitting. We keep this program simple and fun for the kids to get out and enjoy Canada's favorite sport. The younger group plays 10am to noon ages 6-11 years old and the older group plays from noon to 2pm ages 12-18 years old. We basically play a shinny game for the full session with snack at the mid point. We do give the kids some warm up drills before we start the game.

We have a year end party with pizza and snacks. Presentations to the kids and a MVP award to a player on each Team.

What to Bring

Helmet with cage, skates, hockey gloves.

Fees

Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

Volunteering

FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.

We need just a couple volunteers to help coach on the ice and shovel if we have a snow day. Sometimes we need help tying skates.

Teams

Beaumont Shinny Hockey Older Group
We usually have a 15 minute warm up and a few skills for the kids. This age group we play with a hard puck and usually play a game for the full session. You can leave the ice at any time to warm up or have a drink. We play Saturday's from noon till 2pm

Beaumont Shinny Hockey Younger Group
This program is for kids who do not want to play competitive hockey with BAHA. We have everyone on the ice at once and players can leave the ice for a break at anytime. Skills are taught, then we have a game. We try and mix it up with a shoot out at the end or players vs coaches......I stress that this is only Fun Hockey. 6-11 group plays from 10am till noon every Saturday weather permitting.
