FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

We are a skating club local to Onoway with an extensive history of Learn to Skate and FIgure Skating programs. 

For our Winter/Spring 2025 session, and going forward, we are transitioning to FunTeam Alberta and are excited to partner up to bring a lower cost, less competitive learn to skate program for all ages! Our session will run from January 7, 2025 to March 28, 2025. 

We run lessons on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. You are welcome to register for one or both. You registration will include an additional 10$ insurance fee. Parents are welcome on the ice as On-Ice volunteers. Hockey helmets and skates are mandatory. 

We will have a mid-session fundraiser as well as a session end party which will have 50/50 sales and silent auction. Each family must donate an item valued at 30$ or more to the silent auction. There are also various volunteer positions available to sign up for at registration. At least one volunteer position is required per family. 

We have the following groups:

• Level 1 (ages 2 to 4) - This is an introductory level for children looking to learn to skate or build on existing skill. It teaches the foundation for skating and builds on skating skills as child gains confidence on the ice. Lessons are Tuesdays & Thursdays 5pm to 5:30pm. Cost: 150$ per skater.
• Level 2 (ages 5 to 7) - This is an introductory/intermediate level for children looking to build on their skill. Lessons are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:30pm to 6:15pm.  Cost: 160$ per skater.
• Level 3 (ages 7 & up) - This is a transitionary level is for skaters looking to eventually continue into figure skating or those who want to build on their skating skills. Lessons are Tuesday & Thursday from 4pm to 5pm. Cost: 180$ per skater for the session.
• Powerskating (ages 5 & up) - This is a program designed for young hockey/ringuette players looking to improve their skills and speed. Lessons are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:15pm to 7pm. Cost: 170$ per skater for the session.
