FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

FunTeam Alberta is dedicated to promoting family-oriented, low-cost, and less competitive sports that can be enjoyed by participants of all ages and skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that values fun, community, and participation—for players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and everyone involved.

 Our hockey program focuses not only on teaching youth the game of hockey, but also on encouraging balance between sport, school, family, and other activities. While we value commitment to practices and games, we recognize that family life comes first. Attendance at every practice is not mandatory, and we avoid scheduling activities on statutory holidays or during Christmas break. Games are generally scheduled for three weekends each month, giving families time to enjoy other activities such as skiing, holidays, or simply spending time together.

 Program Details:

 Each team has one practice per week (cancelled if it falls on a holiday).

 Players are required to have full hockey equipment and a practice jersey.

 Game jerseys are provided for the season.

 Schedules are coordinated with other towns at the end of September, with team schedules typically finalized by early October.

 Fees & Payment Options:

All fees are payable to Ponoka Rec Hockey by cheque or e-transfer to ponokarechockey@gmail.com. Payments can also be made by credit card through the FunTeam registration page. We believe every child should have the opportunity to play, so financial assistance is available through the local Kids in Sports program.

 We are also excited to share that for the 2025/2026 season, we hope to continue our season wind-up event at the Red Deer Centrium.

We hope to host 1 tournament again this year, usually the second week of January. We also hold Rec Hockey Day, usually held in December, which is every team registered with FunTeam holds a home game.
