Description

FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!

Welcome to RQB Renegades Fun Hockey Team! Each team will have one practice session every Monday evening, ranging from 50-60 minutes in length, depending on the age group. As well, throughout the season there will be the opportunity to play games at home and away on Saturdays. 

Please note the following : 


  • Home games are played at RQB arena

  • Away games will be played against other Fun Hockey Teams that are no farther than a 60 minutes radius

  • There will not be games every Saturday for each team. These games will be spread out over the season, averaging out at about a game every 2-3 weeks. 

  • Due to the large number of players on each of our teams, your child may have to sit out a couple of games during the season. (This will be done in a rotation in order to maintain fairness.)

  • Each team will participate in a one day local tournament

  • Games are played on a full ice surface for all age groups 

What to Bring

Standard Hockey equipment required for all players is as follows:

  • Hockey Stick

  • Padded hockey gloves

  • helmet with cage (HECC certified and not expired)

  • neck guard

  • shoulder and chest pads

  • Elbow pads

  • Athletic Jock (boys) or Jill (girls)

  • Hockey pants

  • Shin guards

  • hockey socks

  • skates


***A  black Fun Hockey Practice Jersey will be provided at the first Monday session.


Fees

Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

The total cost of fees for the season is $325 per child. This fee includes all the expenses for the entire season : ice rental, practice jersey, games, tournaments, etc. As well as the $10 fee for a Fun Team membership is required. Please note that all fees must be paid online by SEPTEMBER 15th in order to complete your child’s registration (cash, cheques, and etransfers will NOT be accepted).

  • We need coaches!!! (We need 3-4 for coaches per team in case someone is sick!)

Littles
For all children interested in playing hockey! They do not need to have any experience, nor do they need to know how to skate. However, for children that do not know how to skate, a parent will be required to accompany them on the ice until they can skate independently. Practices are every Monday night from 5:30-6:20pm.
