Description
FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!
Rich Valley Vikings FunTeam Hockey Club
Welcome to The Rich Valley Vikings Hockey Club! RVHC is affiliated with FunTeam Alberta, where everyone plays and our amazing coaches will be working with all participants to improve their confidence and skill; we strive for everyone to learn how to work as a team player and build their love of the game.
Each team will have one practice weekly; games will start around the first week of November with other Fun Teams in the surrounding areas. The ice scheduler will do their best to schedule 1 home game/1 away game per month, usually no more than 45 minutes from home ice at the Rich Valley Arena. The teams are grouped by age. The age ranges listed below are an approximation that depends on the number of participants in certain age groups.
Little Vikings - Ages 5–7 (TEAM FULL)
Middle Jr Vikings - Ages 8-11
Middle Sr Vikings - Ages 12-14
Big Vikings - Ages 15+
Ice Times:
Please note that these ice times MAY be subject to change depending on the number of registered players.
Big Vikings Thursday 8:30pm-9:30pm
Little Vikings Friday 5:30pm-6:30pm
Middle Jr Vikings Friday 6:30pm-7:30pm

2-3 games per month on Saturdays

Team Photos Sunday October 19th beginning at 9:30am. Team managers will forward the schedule to their respective teams.
All meetings will be held in the Rich Valley Arena Hall.
Fundraising:
Raffle Tickets - Fee $200 per child
Your ticket booklets are purchased up front, and you earn your fee back as you sell your ticket booklets. These booklets will be available for pick up at the Mandatory Parent’s meeting on October 6th. Sold booklet stubs are to be returned to the mail dropbox just inside the arena or at the concession. These booklets are tracked to ensure that they are all returned. Tickets can be paid for by cash or e-transfer to rvasfees@hotmail.com ( please put your name and phone number in the memo when sending an e transfer) ALSO NOTE THIS EMAIL IS DIFFERENT THAN THE EMAIL THAT YOU SEND YOUR REGISTRATION FEES TO.

Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

Registration fees are consistent for all teams.
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. This fee covers our insurance with FunTeam Alberta. Please submit all of your fees to the Rich Valley Hockey Club in a timely fashion as this is required for us to be in compliance with FunTeam.

Volunteering
FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.
VOLUNTEER ROLES:
Team Managers: responsible to ensure the team is able to attend, confirm which players will attend, which jerseys are required, book referees for home games, and provide the game location for their team. They are responsible to reschedule or cancel any games based on weather conditions and/or illnesses. Each team requires a Team Manager for a successful season.
Jersey Managers: ensure that game jerseys are distributed to each player for games and collected at the end of each game. They will wash them according to the instructions given and return ALL jerseys to RVHC at the end of the season.
Referees: Preferably 2 referees per game.
Time/Score Keepers: Run the score clock during each home game.
In addition, each team MUST have a head coach, with, ideally, two assistant coaches.
This organization cannot exist without volunteers. Please consider how you can assist to make this a successful season for our children. All of the above volunteer positions are required to be filled for the season to run. These volunteer commitments will be discussed at the mandatory parent meeting on October 6th @7pm. If you would like to put your name forward for any of these volunteer positions, please choose from the drop down menu during the registration process.
All coaches and parent volunteers that are on the ice and / or in the dressing rooms are required to provide a vulnerable sector check to the club. Please ask for a request letter that you then take to your RCMP detachment - these will also be available at the parent meeting.
