FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!
Bowden FunTeam Alberta is an organization that supports the love of hockey. We have a group of dedicated adults who strive to share their love of the sport with children and youth of all ages and abilities.
Our season will run from October 2026 to March 2027. We typically have one ice time per week on Saturdays, though we are hoping to add in more if there is interest. During the season, we do practices, home games/away games and sometimes tournaments.
This season we are also trying something a bit different. We will be having a couple ice times at the beginning of October where we will get to know the kids as a large group and then we will create the teams once we have met everyone. We are hoping by taking a different approach we can create teams where everyone can get equal opportunities throughout the season.
What to Bring
Bowden FunTeam Alberta does require a complete set of hockey equipment including a full-face mask. Game jersey's will be provided, but practice jerseys are the responsibility of the player and their family. However, we do have practice jersey's available for purchase through FunTeam Alberta at a cost of $15 if needed.
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.
The Bowden FunTeam Alberta registration fee is set at $350 and includes, but is not limited to, the following;
- FunTeam Alberta insurance
- Arena ice rental
- Referee fee
- One team and individual picture
- Communication app (TeamSnap, GameChanger, Bench, etc)
- Christmas and End of season wind up Activities

Bowden FunTeam Alberta is looking for volunteers for the following positions;
- Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Team Manager
- Time Keeper
- Referee
We are looking for people who enjoy the sport, who enjoy helping children and youth of all ages and abilities as well as people who want to have fun! No experience necessary as we have a great support system and are more than happy to help teach and guide you along the way.
All volunteers are required to submit a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check before they are able to step behind the bench.
