FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!
Welcome to Barrhead Fun Hockey! We are excited to welcome you to our community. In keeping with Fun Team Alberta principles and values, our focus is on FUN in hockey. We welcome players from 5-17 years old with little to lots of experience! We encourage our players to have a love of team sport and enjoy working and playing with their peers. We focus on developing their individual skills, as well as their skills within their team. There is usually 1 practice a week and 1 game on Saturday. Practices for all teams will be on Tuesdays between the times of 4-7pm starting in November. Games typically are within 1 hour drive of Barrhead.
Cost is $225 + $15 for a practice jersey (not required) this amount includes the $10 registration with FUNTEAM Alberta
We welcome all volunteers who have completed a Vulnerable Sector check. Checks are required once every 3 years and must be provided to the Board one week prior to the first practice. Volunteer positions that we typically look to fill are coaches, team managers and Referees.
We will end the year with a trip to watch the Oil Kings play in Edmonton.

Saturday's starting October 10th are practices:
8:00am - 9:15am: 15-17 Year Old
9:30am - 10:45am: 12-14 Years old
11:00am - 12:00 pm : 9 - 11 Years Old
12:00pm - 1:00pm: 5-8 Years Old

REGISTRATION IS OPEN AUGUST 1st TO SEPTEMBER 30th. Online only.
*Team Snap invitations with season schedule and team details will be sent out in October
* Please Pay by e-transfer to barrheadfh@gmail.com and ensure that you state your players name in the memo so payments can be properly allocated.
* Payments are Due October 10th
* To ensure fair and balanced teams for all players, we are no longer able to accommodate team requests outside of family members.
What to Bring
The following is required for all players:
- Hockey Bag
- Water Bottle
- Jock
- Shin guards
- Socks
- Practice jersey
- Skates
- Skate guards
- Hockey pants
- Neck guard
- Elbow pads
- Shoulder pads
- Gloves
- Helmet with full cage
- Stick
All coaches on the ice are required to wear a helmet and skates.
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

Volunteering
FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.
Our hockey program depends on volunteers to keep the season running. We are in urgent need of coaches, managers, and volunteer referees. Without coaches, we can't have teams. Without referees, we can't play games.
Every volunteer makes a difference. More helping hands mean a smoother, more enjoyable season for our players and families. Volunteer referees also help keep our operating costs down, allowing us to keep registration fees as affordable as possible.
If you can spare some time this season, please consider stepping up. Together, we can give our kids a great hockey experience.
