FunTeam Alberta promotes family oriented, low cost, and less competitive sport to be enjoyed by participants of all skill levels. We are an inclusive organization that encourage any activity to be FUN for the participants, parents, coaches, volunteers and the rest of the community!
Welcome to Badlands Wolves FunTeam Hockey!
Our program is built on the FunTeam Alberta philosophy and FUNdamentals of providing a family-oriented, affordable, and inclusive hockey experience where fun comes first. We welcome players of all skill levels and focus on developing a love of the game, teamwork, confidence, and community.
Badlands Wolves is a co-ed recreational, non-contact hockey program where every player has the opportunity to learn, develop, and succeed in a positive environment. We are committed to helping players build skills, make friendships, and develop a lifelong love of hockey.
We hope to offer several age divisions for the 2026/27 season, with teams organized based on age, confidence, and skill level to ensure players are placed in an environment where they feel comfortable, supported, and successful. Whether your child is new to hockey or has several years of experience, our focus is on creating a fun and rewarding experience for everyone.
Coach Randin Johnson and Coach Jeff Greene will determine team allocations prior to start of season.
The season typically runs from September through March and includes weekly practices and games. We strive to keep costs low while creating memorable experiences for players and families. Throughout the season, we may organize special events and community initiatives to support the program and build team spirit.
Volunteers are at the heart of our organization, and we welcome parents and community members to get involved as coaches, team managers, Parent Committee members, referees, and event helpers. Together, we can create an exceptional experience for our players while strengthening our hockey community.
Cost for the 2026/27 season is $250 per player. This includes a $10 registration with FunTeam Alberta.

Practices and home games will be held at the Morrin Sportsplex. Times will be determined based on registration numbers and volunteer availability.

- Jockey or Jill Shorts
- Shin guards
- Practice Socks
- Practice jersey
- Skates
- Skate guards
- Hockey pants
- Neck guard
- Elbow pads
- Shoulder pads
- Hockey Gloves
- Helmet with full cage
- Hockey Stick
All coaches on the ice are required to wear a helmet and skates.
Fees
Important: $10 of the listed registration fee covers your FunTeam membership which is required to join a FunTeam group. Please submit all of your fees to your Group Manager in a timely fashion as it is required to complete the registration process.

Volunteering
FunTeam volunteers are our most valuable resource. We can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our programming and bringing our model of sport to your community.
The Badlands Wolves are built by volunteers. Our coaches, managers, referees, parent committee members, and team helpers are the backbone of our program, and we couldn't provide a fun, affordable hockey experience without them.
Our Parent Committee plays an important role in supporting the season. Committee members help coordinate registrations, communications, team events, volunteer recruitment, and year-end celebrations. Their involvement helps ensure the program runs smoothly and continues to grow.
As we grow, we're looking for parents, family members, and community supporters to help in a variety of roles. We are in need of coaches, team coordinators, and volunteer referees. Without coaches, we can't field teams. Without referees, we can't play games.
Every volunteer makes a difference. The more people who get involved, the more opportunities we can create for our players while keeping registration fees affordable for families.
Whether you can help on the ice, behind the bench, with fundraising, or as part of our Parent Committee, we'd love to have you join the team. Together, we can create a positive, fun-first hockey experience where kids develop skills, build friendships, and make lasting memories.
We welcome volunteers who have completed a Vulnerable Sector check. Checks are required once every 3 years and must be provided to the group manager one week prior to the first practice.
